Salad Bar Studio is the creative world of artist and designer Maggie Johnson. Specializing in illustration, graphic design, and hand-built ceramics, Maggie collaborates with brands and non-profits to create memorable marketing moments and beautifully executed creative experiences. Recent clients have included PBS SoCal, Nine Dot Arts, Lavender Hill Cultural District, Denver Botanic Gardens, and Edible Denver Magazine.

Maggie holds a Bachelor of Science in graphic design from Portland State University. Originally from Louisville, Colorado, Maggie currently lives in Denver with her wife and two dogs.

Artist Statement

Maggie’s art practice is a response to the perpetual balancing acts of being both a human and a spirit, a vessel and a channel, an individual and a part of the collective. This push-and-pull in Maggie’s art practice seeks to create harmony and equilibrium while collaborating with the reality that everything is in a constant state of movement and change. Her work is ultimately centered around relationships: the give and take, the call and response, the cause and effect, the boundaries and the flow. 

Intuitive color choices, movement, balance, rhythm, layering, and play are key components of Maggie’s work.
